Associate

PROFILE

Dr. Stefan Schäfer is a German patent attorney and advises clients in prosecution and litigation proceedings.

His technical focus lies in civil and mechanical engineering, measurement technology, as well as signal and data processing and computer-implemented inventions.

As a civil engineer with many years of research experience at the Technical University of Munich, he has particular expertise in fluid mechanics and hydraulic engineering. He earned his doctorate on the physical and numerical modeling of sediment transport processes and is highly familiar with complex measurement systems and the processing of large data sets.

Dr. Schäfer led several research projects and was, among other roles, a visiting scientist at NTNU Trondheim and a research engineer at the hydraulics laboratory of ETH Zurich. In the construction industry, he also gained practical experience as a structural engineer with a focus on tunnel and transportation infrastructure construction.
